How to make a mini laundry room with recycle materials 2019/10/30

Today I would like to share with you that I’ve made this mini laundry room using different materials we have at home. The project will be useful for school projects, to create toys, play with your children at home and more. We start with Recycling and Reusing!

The laundry room

I’ve selected a liquid soap container of 1.5 liters for black clothes, as the space to set the laundry room. I’ve used the contour of the front label as a guide to cut the opening. If you can, get the largest soap container, so you can put in more elements. I’ve also placed a piece of wood, parquet type, on the floor of the laundry room to give stability to the furniture we will be elaborating and putting inside.

Washing machine

Cut a piece of wood with approximate measurements of 5.5 cm tall by 4.5 cm long and 2 cm in width, I’ve painted it yellow and black because these will be the basic colors of the laundry room

Rack

In a small section of wood, I’ve set 3 hangers, the smallest ones I was able to find in the hardware store, they were still too big, so I reduced the size by cutting them with tweezers and forming the hanger again. Of this liquid body soap container, I’ve cut off the plastic where there are decorations of lemons, flowers and leaves and pasted it on the wood

Laundry Basket

Surely you know where this small capsule comes from, from a very famous egg shaped chocolate. Well, to this capsule I’ve pasted an O-ring on the inferior part so it stays vertical and of the liquid soap from before, I’ve pasted the lemon to decorate, I’ve used instant glue. Then I’ve cut scraps of fabric with miniature designs to insert in the basket

Wall decoration for the laundry room

In magazines or catalogs, look for clocks, small squares and more decorative elements. Get a piece of acetate, the material some electronic items are covered with. Cut the decorations and then paste with clear glue the acetate on top of them, then cut the acetate to each piece’s measurements and finally locate these decorations on the laundry room’s wall

Chair

For the chair I’ve used the metal cap of a bottle of champagne. Remember to always be on the lookout for elements you can recover and reuse

Cat’s bed

These piece I’ve obtained it from the upper part of the body soap, as you can see it has a hole, but with a piece of acetate cut to the measurement, painted and pasted, a cute bed for the cat is formed, to which I’ve added a small mattress of foam rubber

Here you can see in detail all the basic elements that make up the laundry room. You can add many more taking advantage of all the material you have at home; as I’ve commented, this is a cute project to work along with small children, as it awakens their manual creativity and interest for reusing of elements or objects

And because in Tempo di Festa we dedicate ourselves to celebrations, this laundry room goes great with a bachelorette party amongst friends, as a decoration for the gift table accompanied by natural flower arrangements, it’s a funny way to remind the future bride of the day to day chors that await her

We join the Friendly Challenge 118, it’s awesome to be part of this event where Recycling is an important key
