How to create a winter headband in crochet 10/24/2017

I’m sure that more than once you have had to assist to an event in wintry season and because you can’t miss it, here I show you how to prepare to be warmly clothed and fashionable!

Materials

• 100 grams of wool of your choice
• Needle according to the specifications of the selected wool
• Scissors
• Pen, buttons
• Measuring tape

The measurements vary depending on the age of the girl, teen or woman; for the length it’ll be better to take the measurement of the head’s circumference, the width will depend if a wider or thinner head band is wanted

Here is a guide on how to start the work, the increases and decreases

1st Round: We start by making 5 or 6 chain stitches, the necessary ones to make the closing button we’ve chose to go through; we close forming a circle; then we make 2 chain stitches in the air and 3 double crochet, in total we’ve made 4 double crochets

2nd Round: Over the previous 4 double crochets we make 4 double crochets

3rd Round: We make an increase on each side, in total we make 6 double crochets.

4th Round: We make 6 double crochets over the previous double crochets

5th Round: We make an increase on each side, in total we made 8 double crochets.

6th Round: We make 8 double crochets over the previous double crochets

7th Round: We make an increase on each side, in total we’ve made 10 double crochets.

8th Round: We make 10 double crochets on top of the previous double crochets. Here we measure the width of our head band, if the width is of our liking we’ll continue knitting with 10 double crochets the center part (Width between 6 and 8 cm suggested for girls)

9th Round: However, the model I’ll make is for a woman, so we’ll continue making an increase on each side, in total we’ve made 12 double crochets.

10th Round: We make an increase on each side, in total we’ve done 14 double crochets, obtaining 14 cm in width (Suggested measurement for women and teens)

11th – 19th Round: make 14 double crochets, this will form the center part of the head band

20th Round: We make a decrease of 12 double crochets

21st Round: We decrease 10 double crochets.

22nd Round: We make 10 double crochets.

23rd Round: We decrease 8 double crochets.

24th Round: We make 8 double crochets.

25th Round: We decrease 6 double crochets.

26th Round: We make 6 double crochets.

27th Round: We decrease 4 double crochets.

28th Round: We make 4 double crochets and finish

With the same thread we continue working a half stitch throughout the contour of the headband, including the initial circle, this will give a beautiful finish
