CONFETTI SURPRISE EGGS: GAMES FOR CHILDREN 2015/03/24

Hello everyone! I present you an idea that not only will be useful to decorate eggs, but also to organize games. Because the confetti is present, we can make them from the first days of carnival until Easter.

It is about “real” eggs, meaning, the shells, which will work as containers to make “bombs” loaded with fun; we get them and prepare them in a way that in just one day we can decorate a good amount of shells

Material we will need:

  • Clean eggshells
  • Water
  • Food coloring
  • White vinegar
  • Acrylic colors
  • Spoons
  • Tissue paper or recycled (or Indian paper)
  • Scissors
  • Plastic glue
  • 1 plastic container for eggs
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 medium brush and 1 small
  • Pointy knife
  • 1 or 2 bowls, crystal jars or containers
  • Puncher
  • Thick upholstery needle disinfected
  • Latex gloves

To achieve a certain amount of shells, days before I suggest you make a cake, weathered food or desserts, but don’t crack the eggs in the usual way, instead we will do this: on the thinnest side of the egg, we make a hole with the needle and the base a small hole with the help of the knife. To take the egg out, we can blow a little. Nevertheless, without blowing, the egg comes out the same even whole, so much so that you can cook it sunny side up directly on the pan! I recommend you don’t waste them!

Then we adequately wash the shells with dish soap.

Decoration, way 1:

In a bowl we pour one cup of hot water and one tip of food coloring, we add ¼ of white vinegar.

Place the shells and fully submerge them. We let them color for an hour or two, turning them once in a while. We do this for each color we want. Once they have taken the desired color, we let them dry on the egg container. Don’t worry if the color is not perfect, after all these eggs are for breaking!

Once dry, we insert a fistful of confetti, previously made with the puncher machine, we close the holes and decorate with pieces of silk paper, Indian or recycled paper.

Decoration, way 2:

In a bowl put a little water, bathe the shells and paint with acrylic paint. Willingly apply the color in a way it partially covers them or you can crate effects with more colors. We let them dry on the plastic container and then decorate them with “dots” pasting the confetti. We let them dry in the container. Once dry, put a little confetti inside and close the holes with pieces of recycled paper. Wait for them to dry completely.

Games to have fun!

Treasure hunt.- The eggs are hidden and whoever finds them breaks them on the head of their friends! It could happen that someone doesn’t even find any eggs, so leave some aside to distribute them to everyone in the end.

Organize a fun picnic for the little participants, take as many photos to share using the Easter Photo booth of immediate download on our store!
