Tutorial to make a felt stork 2020/03/12

Again Partying, because births are the best excuse to celebrate.

Whether it be for the arrival of a new life, or about a nephew or niece, your best friend’s children or your own baby, we can not let the moment slip.

So today I propose you to make a felt stork to decorate your candy bar, as corsage, on top of cupcakes… the bigger you make it you can decorate the maternity door.

Materials

  • White, black and orange felt
  • White feathers
  • Skewers
  • Cotton
  • White thread
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Design

We cut the pattern of the stork on paper

Cut 2 pieces of body and wings

We test the quantity of cotton we will insert and pin the pieces so we can sew them with no problem.

I have sewn the beak closing a triangle, without turning it, with the skewer I have helped myself to define the shape, I place the beak with pins set on the head where it should be sewn along with the feathers; and I start sewing the body on the tip of the tail, so the start and finish is hidden, I have inserted the cotton until I have almost closed the body of the stork, I also sew the black wing.

The support skewer is painted with black acrylic paint.

Here is our result, our stork is ready to decorate cupcakes, the candy bar.

As an additional tip, making the stork in a larger size could work as a centerpiece decoration, just enough with making the diagram larger.
