Tutorial How to make a crochet mini bag 01/31/2023

Today we will make a mini bag to embellish your parties, I will share the instructions and diagram of how to make it and according to the color tones of the threads you choose, you will have different possibilities to give it in Baby Showers, in a Bachelorette party, in a lady’s or young women’s birthday party, etc.

You can customize the mini bag to your taste and fill it with chocolates, cookies, candy or candied almonds. We will provide the initial basic inspiration.

Materials

• Cotton threads, of natural fibers, nylon, etc.
• Crochet hook according to the thread instructions
• Synthetic leather for the handles

Once you define the thickness of the thread and the hook, start testing to obtain the dimension of the mini bag you desire and write down these data so all end up being the same. For a mini bag you can use threads from number 2 or 3, 5 or 8, what matters is that you test it to see which you like the most. As a reference I have used the number 2 thread for this bag.

Start a first round chain, my first round measures 5 cm, it is very important that this number of chains is an even number.

Make the number of necessary rounds to obtain a width of 2 cm, for my bag I have made two rounds. Once finished the base, make 2 double crochet rounds (d.c) in each of the d.c. of the previous round (meaning with no increase).

This is the central fantasy stitch, it has 5 rounds and you knit it twice.

After knitting the central part of the fantasy stitch, knit a last round of double crochet, as an option, finish with a last round of single crochet.

Use little container boxed with cookies, mints or chocolates to protect the mini bag or fill in with candies in its respective package like gummies, refreshing candy or the Tic Tac little boxes.

To place the handles, symmetrically fold the bag and locate the place where they should go, pass the synthetic leather strips and sew them with a cross of a cross stitch. Other options are to knit them with the same thread, form handles with beads through a thread or use plastic rings lined with the same thread. As I told you at the beginning, our base model is to give you ideas of how to customize the bags for your party.
