How to make small felt roses, tutorial 2015/02/05

February begins, season when hearts are roses are in the air…

For that reason I present you these 2 tutorials to make felt roses in 2 different versions.

Materials: Red felt and thread, scissors

The first rose is made from a 5 cm in diameter circle, we trace a wavy spiral on the paper, set the felt with pins, cut on the wavy line and we have the first part of the rose done.

We start rolling the felt from the center towards the outside, we start to sew the felt with thread and needle, giving shape to the rose and we keep doing that until the end.

I recommend you use thread and needle for fine finishes instead of with a silicone gun. This is the result.

The second rose is made from 4 or 5 small circles, we cut them in half and start to join them by sewing on the base of the petals, we carefully stretch the thread, this will help shape the rose, we sew to close and we are done.

We can apply pearls on the center of the roses, sew them to hair pins for girls or party brooches for a Valentine’s Day event.

Decorate the back of the chairs or door handles.
