Origami hearts, how to make them 20/01/2014

To start, we need 18 squares of red cardboard paper, of 9 cm, (we can also start with colored paper, but it will not be as resistant).

1. First step: fold a cardboard from tip to tip forming a triangle, we flatten the fold well to leave a mark.

Then, we open he cardboard and fold it on the opposite side, always forming a triangle. We open the square again and we will see that there are signs of the folds we have made, we take one tip and take it to the center of the square, exactly where the X is formed and do the same with the other tips, joining them all in the center.

2. When we have finished, it will have the shape of a diamond.

3. We turn it over and we will see there is a mark forming a cross, we take the tips and take them to the center. We must make sure to mark each fold well to better work on the cardboard.

4. Then we fold it in half, to the side we had joined the tips on

5. Then with our fingers we have to shape it well to make the four points, as seen on the design.

6. This shape is the base of out Valentine’s Day heart: we have to do the same with the 18 squares, it is very easy after doing it with the first one.

When you are done making them all, you must follow the next diagram: it shows the order to form the heart, just joined them by one of the triangles and this how the assembly is done. To make sure they do not go loose, you can put some glue on them before putting them together.

And this is how this beautiful heart is done, you can put it in a little box and add some candies, it is a nice gift both for your boyfriend or best friend!

Try it and you will see how easy and fun it is
