how to make a jute and lace cutlery holder 2017/10/29

Here I show you two characteristic details of this decoration to dress your table, keep in mind that this style is ideal for a lady’s birthday, baby showers, wedding anniversary and it’s even a very required style for outdoor weddings

Materials for 48 cutlery holders

1.50 m of burlap or jute 1.5 wide

6 meters of white lace 2.5 cm wide

1 beige thread

1 white thread

Scissors and pins

The fabric can be found in haberdasheries with the name of burlap fabric or jute, in both cases it’s the same; when it comes to the lace select one where one of the sides is lineal, the width can be as wide as you wish, the one I’ve selected has embroidered a line of button roses

Rustic Party 2 Materials

The basic pattern to make the cutlery holder is a rectangle of 35 cm in length by 12 cm in width and fold along leaving the part that covers the cutlery with a length of 14 cm

To obtain 48 cutlery holders, we place the pattern along the fabric this way

As it is a rustic knit, we won’t have difficulty when cutting it since we can perfectly follow the space between threads as if they were guides, we place the pattern just to obtain the total measurements, this way we will get exact pieces and no waste

As a first step, we sew the lace with white thread, to make the process faster you can place all the pieces in a line and sew in just one needlework

We change to beige thread and now make 2 seams on both sides of the bag, it’s important to top off these seams so they don’t open when used

Ready, we have the rustic touch we were looking for

Have you seen how simple it is to make? Well, now let’s go for these little sacks to give away chocolates or candy almonds, you can place them at the Candy Table or give them away at the end of the event

Materials for 50 sacks

1 meter of fabric 1.50 m wide

10 meters of lace

The pattern for these would be a rectangle of 19 cm in width by 14 cm in length, first we make a closing seam at the upper part of the sack and sew the lace 3 or 4 cm at the upper edge. Then, we sew the sack in the inside out part along the side

Now we fold the sack exactly at the half and sew the lower part leaving a 1 cm edge

Finally, we turn the sack to the right side. I hope these projects are of great use in that special day for you

Pleasure to make your party special
