How to make a manger with corks do it yourself 2014/12/16

Hello! Today I propose something simple to make with corks that almost everyone has at home, specially in a party period like this one, on which bottles are uncorked to celebrate!

Material:

  • Corks (the ones from sparkling wines are best)
  • Small pieces of fabric or felt
  • Glue
  • Cord (thin)
  • Scissors
  • Permanent black marker
  • Brown colored paper

We must recreate the figures from the manger with the corks;

Let’s start with Joseph.

We draw a beard on the brown paper and then we cut it and stick it to the cork, then we add the fabric and paste it to create the dress for our character.

For Mary just draw with the marker her eyes, mouth and hair and paste the blue fabric to the cork, simulating the veil she was wearing.

For baby Jesus everything is simpler, just the eyes, mouth and a white or grey fabric.

To make the halo, make circle with the cord and paste behind the cork. On my little manger I have placed the guardian angel, but you can do what you wish, include the ox and the donkey, just have some imagination.

I hope you have liked the cork manger.

My family liked it a lot.

Visit our store in the Christmas section: surely you will find as many party kits to choose the perfect theme for your party!
