Frida Kahlo inspired makeup – Woman’s Day 2015/03/08

Hello everyone, today we want to pay tribute to all the woman of the world and their rights.

Before starting with the makeup tutorial, we want to remind you of the origin of this very important date for all of us.

In 1908, in a textile factory in the United States, a group of workers declared a strike for a few days due to the inhumane conditions to which they were submitted. On march 8th, the owner of the factory blocked the workers inside the fabric, preventing them from getting out. Then due to a violent incident, which started accidentally on site, 129 women died in flames.

In memory of this tragedy the date of March 8 is considered an international day of protest for the acknowledgment of women’s rights.

This makeup is inspired on Frida Kahlo, a women with German and Mexican blood, painter and wife to Diego Rivera (Mexican muralist), forced to remain on a wheel chair.

With the motive of Women’s Day, we have wanted to make this small tribute as a way to celebrate, not only this famous painter, but also all of the women of the world for their effort and their talent.
