Recipe to make a strawberry and kefir smoothie 2017/05/10

 

A couple of months ago, I received a milk kefir as a gift to make yogurt at home

After a few days, the granules gave me approximately one liter of wonderful and creamy fresh yogurt

I wanted to try it on more recipes, which I hope to share later in this space. Today we will prepare a healthy and refreshing smoothie

Given that the yogurt that’s obtained is very sour, you can try different ways to sweeten it. I’ve made it healthier by adding brown sugar, although you can also use white sugar or honey

Ingredients for approximately 4 portions are:

  • 250 grams of strawberries, washed and chopped
  • 200 ml of milk kefir
  • 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 500 ml of cold whole milk
  • Ice to taste, optional
  • Reserve some strawberries for decorations

Mix all the ingredients on medium speed, without the small inner lid, to allow air flow.

Pour the smoothie in crystal glasses, previously chilled. The freshness and flavor are really exceptional!
