How to make a decoration lamp with ocean vibes 2015/05/04

Walking by the sea? At least to find the raw material from our proposal and find one or two decorative detail for our events.

Materials

  • Wood picked up from the sea
  • Drill
  • 3 cm, 4 cm, 5 cm end mills
  • Measuring tape and pencil
  • Small rocks or sand
  • Candles

For this tutorial, our recovered tree trunk has the chance of having three candle holder holes, which we will locate in a proportionate way, marking with ruler and pencil, we start to drill with the 5 cm end mill

The first drill hole will look this way. We make the first three holes with this end mill

We change to the 4 cm in diameter end mill and again drill on three holes

We change to the 3 cm in diameter end mill and repeat the process; depending on the conditions of the wood, the remaining pieces can be easily removed, otherwise, we pass a smaller diameter end mill.

With a cutting punch toll we eliminate the rest of the wood that might gave remained.

We insert little rocks or sand to fill the holes that remain, these will work also as insulation between the lumber and the candle.

We insert the candles

A terrace party with and ocean or beach view goes well with our Ocean themed party kit available in the Shop
